Two Line Display

Our two line 40 cell display will provide an affordable solution that also allows better interaction with digital media.

Five Line Display

Our second product is a multi-line, refreshable Braille display. This display will be affordable and will offer solutions to problems unsolved in the past. This display will create the potential for better interaction with digital media.

About Us

We are an innovative Braille company. We are looking to transform how Braille is displayed for the sight impaired community.

Our vision started with a thesis project while being undergraduates at MIT. We have created an innovative solution for displaying refreshable Braille, and we hope to bring this to market within the next year in our multi-line display.

Our successful Braille cell development was partially funded by a National Science Foundation grant.

Our Team

Doug Cohen - CEO

Doug Cohen is BSI's CEO and has over 20 years experience in manufacturing equipment, product design, global sourcing, and logistics. Doug is a graduate of MIT in mechanical engineering and has experience as both an owner and investor in startups. He owns a number of technology patents.

Thor Hendrickson - CTO

Thor Hendrickson is BSI's CTO and has over 20 years experience in design and product development. Thor is a graduate of MIT in mechanical engineering and has 10+ years experience as a consultant. He owns a number of technology patents.

Bruce Renard - CIO

Bruce Renard is BSI's CIO and is a recently retired software/electrical engineer. He has spent 35+ years in software and hardware development.

Andy Spector - Business Development

Andy Spector has over 30 years experience in engineering, technical marketing, sales, and business development. Andy is a graduate of Stanford (MS mechanical engineering) and University of Illinois (BS Aeronautical engineering).
